Updating from 3v3 or higher

 

Does this update include all the other updates?
Yes! You can update from any previous version of Martial Arts Organizer directly to the latest version. So you can go from 3v9 directly to 4v10.

 

Perform these steps in this order:

	RESTART your computer. (Do NOT skip this step!!!) If you are using Martial Arts Organizer on a network, perform these steps on the server with no guests connected.
	Open the OLD version of Martial Arts Organizer with the Administrator’s password.
	From the Main Menu, click the button.
	Click the button.
	Quit Martial Arts Organizer.
	Delete any aliases or shortcuts to the Martial Arts Organizer application you have outside of the Martial Arts Organizer folder.
	Locate your original ‘Martial Arts Organizer’ folder on your hard drive and rename it: Old Martial Arts Organizer
	Locate the 'data' folder inside the ‘Old Martial Arts Organizer’ folder and rename it: Old data
	Backup the ENTIRE ‘Old Martial Arts Organizer’ folder to an EXTERNAL source. (Do NOT skip this step!!!)
	Install the new version of Martial Arts Organizer, following the installation instructions. DO NOT open the software at this time!
	Open the 'Old Martial Arts Organizer' folder and open the 'old data' folder.
	Copy all files with "previous" in the filename into the 'data' folder of the new Martial Arts Organizer.
	One more time, go back to the 'Old Martial Arts Organizer' folder and open the 'old data' folder.
	Copy Settings 3.XX.usr (XX being the VERSION NUMBER you're upgrading from) into the 'data' folder of the new Martial Arts Organizer.
	Open the new version of Martial Arts Organizer with the Administrator’s password.
	From the Main Menu, click the button.
	To update ALL files: Hold Option (Mac) or Alt (PC) and click the button. (You can release the button when the dialog box appears.) (If you are prompted to locate your old Settings file. Click OK, Cancel, then Continue.) Your computer will locate the "previous" files and import your data. OR To update files individually: Click the button and click the first button to the left of "MAO." (If you are prompted to locate your old Settings file. Click OK, Cancel, then Continue.) Click each button, proceeding down the first column then down the second column. Optional: If you would like to view the Import Mapping dialog box, hold the Control key when you click an button. (Choose "separate records" in the second dialog and click OK.) Your computer will locate the "previous" files and import your data.
	After updating has been completed, Exit/Quit Martial Arts Organizer.
	After you have confirmed the Update was successfully completed, to clean up: Move the ‘Old Martial Arts Organizer’ folder to the Recycling Bin or Trash.
	Search your entire computer (all hard drives and the network) for ‘data’ and ‘Martial Arts Organizer’ to verify there is only ONE copy of the Martial Arts Organizer files installed on your computer or network. Duplicate copies may cause data loss. Delete them.
	To reduce the size of your backup (you are backing up on a regular basis, right?) now delete the 'previous' files from the 'data' folder.
	Always be sure to read the Version History to see what's new.

 

You're Done! You can now begin to use your new version of Martial Arts Organizer.
